Human Rights Statement

Last updated: 18 March 2024

We affirm that business thrives when human rights are upheld. Recognizing our responsibility, we commit to respecting human rights and fostering positive impacts. This commitment is essential to our employees, workers, shareholders, investors, customers, communities, and civil society. Upholding human rights is both a business imperative and a moral obligation. Our Human Rights Statement embodies principles that guide our policies and operations.

Our Policy

Aligned with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, our human rights policy is rooted in the International Bill of Human Rights, encompassing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenants on Civil and Political Rights, as well as Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights. We also adhere to the fundamental rights outlined in the International Labour Organization's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. Complementing these standards, we abide by the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and proudly support the United Nations Global Compact as a founding signatory.

Our commitment extends to respecting all internationally recognized human rights relevant to our operations. Our guiding principle dictates that in instances where national law and international human rights standards diverge, we prioritize the higher standard. Should conflicts arise, we adhere to national law while actively seeking avenues to uphold international human rights to the fullest extent possible.

Our Vision

CyberWissen's vision is to double its business size while simultaneously reducing its environmental footprint and enhancing its positive social impact.

Our Code of Business Principles underscores our commitment to conducting operations with honesty, integrity, and transparency, while respecting the human rights and interests of our employees. We extend this respect to all parties involved in our business relationships.

We hold our partners to similar standards, expecting them to adhere to principles consistent with our own. Discrimination, forced, trafficked, and child labor are strictly prohibited, and we are dedicated to ensuring safe and healthy working conditions, upholding the dignity of every individual. Additionally, we uphold the rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining, along with facilitating effective information and consultation procedures.

In our security operations, we align with the Group Security Framework, national legal requirements, and international standards. Recognizing the significance of land rights, we are committed to the principle of free, prior, and informed consent and advocate for its implementation by national authorities.

Responsible Sourcing

With a large and diverse extended supply chain, we acknowledge the vital role our suppliers play in enabling us to source responsibly and sustainably. Our Responsible Sourcing Policy outlines our expectations concerning the respect for human rights, including labor rights, within our extended supply chain.

We engage exclusively with suppliers who adhere to our Responsible Sourcing Policy, requiring their commitment to transparency, rectifying any deficiencies, and pursuing continuous improvement.

Embedded within our Responsible Sourcing Policy are explicit requirements and guidance on establishing grievance mechanisms, ensuring that avenues for addressing concerns are clear and accessible.

Addressing Human Rights Impacts

We acknowledge the necessity of identifying and addressing any actual or potential adverse impacts in which we may be directly or indirectly involved, whether through our own activities or our business relationships. To manage these risks, we integrate responses to our due diligence into our policies and internal systems, take action based on findings, monitor our actions, and communicate with stakeholders about our efforts to address impacts.

Recognizing human rights due diligence as an ongoing process, we understand its importance at specific stages in our business activities, such as forming new partnerships or encountering changes in operating conditions, which may lead to new potential or actual impacts on human rights.

In regions where systemic risks of human rights abuses are particularly high, we acknowledge the need for additional due diligence to assess and effectively address these risks. We leverage our influence to work either through one-to-one relationships or broader partnerships to mitigate these risks appropriately.

We value open dialogue with our employees, workers, and external stakeholders who are or could potentially be impacted by our actions. We prioritize engaging with individuals or groups who may face greater risks of negative human rights impacts due to vulnerability or marginalization. We also recognize that women and men may encounter different risks, and we are committed to addressing these disparities accordingly.

Remedy

We prioritize the establishment of effective grievance mechanisms within our company to provide remedy whenever human rights impacts occur. We strive to raise awareness and knowledge among our employees and workers regarding human rights, including labor rights, encouraging them to voice concerns without fear of reprisal through our grievance channels. We are dedicated to enhancing the capacity of our management to identify and address concerns effectively.

Additionally, we advocate for the implementation of effective grievance mechanisms by our suppliers to ensure that human rights concerns are addressed throughout our supply chain.

Empowering Women through Rights, Skills and Opportunities

Women globally encounter discrimination, barriers to skill development, and obstacles to economic participation, often lacking basic rights and legal protections. Poverty, discrimination, and violence against women further impede their opportunities.

At our core, we recognize women's significance in our business model and growth objectives. We are committed to managing and expanding socially responsible enterprises where women participate equally. We consider women's rights and economic inclusion as crucial priorities for long-term success.

Our approach begins with respecting women's rights and extends to actively promoting them. We strive to facilitate skill development and create opportunities for women, both within our operations and throughout our value chain.

Our Governance

Our Chief Executive Officer leads our efforts in this area, supported by the CyberWissen Leadership Executive team, including the Chief Supply Chain Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Chief Legal Officer, Chief Sustainability Officer, and Global Vice President for Social Impact. Oversight at the board level is provided by the Corporate Responsibility Committee of CyberWissen PLC, ensuring accountability for our commitment to respecting human rights throughout the organization.

Going Forward

We believe our products have positive impacts, especially in health and sanitation. We're committed to fairness in the workplace, women's opportunities, and inclusive business. We continuously evaluate and improve our approach to human rights, collaborating with external partners. Progress will be reported annually. This policy statement solidifies our commitments and applies across our operations and value chain.
